Nicole and Derek are dancing to “Anything Goes,” so they’re going to be sailors slacking off in a slapstick-y vaudeville routine. Nicole wants to challenge herself every week, so they pretend that she’s bad. I mean, she stresses out about looking like an idiot. She does not. It’s a lively, spirited routine, but it’s more like a freestyle than a quickstep with the random jumping, kicking and side-dancing sequences. She does all of it well, of course, staying in sync with Derek the whole way. Len chews them out for taking “Anything Goes” too literally and chastises them for no not doing a proper quickstep. Bruno calls it an incredible performance, but agrees with Len and says they should’ve at least kept hold. Carrie Ann docks them for lifts and broken holds, but wants front-row seats when they take the act on the road. @xoxoixoxo she’s not the only with an unfair advantage. Evan did ballet and Erin was a hip hop instructor. Plus, her choreography was harder than anybody else’s, so it practically was fair.
@angieginoc22 there are practically no moves taken from Brooke’s freestyle, this was completely different. And the suit’s are kinda alike, but the Derek’s pants are probably the only thing they got from Shawn and Mark. Their suits are very different. The reason they didn’t get a perfect 30 is because Nicole slipped a tad on the last lift. I can see why people think this freestyle is a lot like Shawn’s because they both have the same vibe and incredible energy level, but the moves r different.

Is it just me or did Derek take a lot of his moves from his and Brookes freestyle. And the whole black suit with lime green suit under is kind of like Shwan and Marks freestyle. Maybe its just me, who knows? But then again, maybe all the recycled moves and ideas is the reason this is the only winning freestyle that didn’t score a perfect 30.

yeah shes got natural talen, and yeah shes got kind of an “unfair advantage” over everyone else. but i think her heart was in it the most. her heart was 100% in it to win it. she loves dance so much and its so evident. she challenged herself, she didnt take the easy way out. she deserves this more then anyone else.
@depi25 Disagree the purpose of the show is to take someone whose profession is nowhere close to dance and exploit their potential as a dancer thus this fiasco was fixed to deceitfully regain ratings. Don’t get me wrong I love Nicole and enjoyed the dance but I also believe in fair play. As Mythbusters would say this show is busted.

She sings and “DANCES” for a living and has been quoted as saying that she has been dancing from the age of 3yrs old, she has professional training before dancing with the stars and she teaches people to dance when carrying out her duties with the Dolls thus she is a professional dancer and has a distinct and unfair advantage over the competition.
@5029 she is not a professional dancer. she is a performer. that means she can both sing and dance well!!. apart form that she was never trained for ballroom dances. she’s just so much talented
How the hell does Nicole get to be on dancing with the stars when she’s already a professional dancer for the Pussycat Dolls? I thought that Dancing with the Stars was for average non professional celebrities? Well at least she proves that she’s a good actress as she is doing a good job pretending that she’s new to dancing and she is succeeding in fooling the stupid people.

Those judges can kick rocks! That was one of the most “creative dances” of Season 10. That’s what keeps us watching. Be creative with your choreography Derek!

@kikimurks I only see 8.7% gymnastics. And majority of those are lifts, which is allowed in this type of dance.
