@evannafanatic Sorry to oppose you. I did ballroomdancing for several years. Here in europe there are quite tight rules what a dance has to look like. What we*ve seen from Nicole and Derek was far away from beiing Jive, it looked like Lindihopp (hope that’s how it’s written) and the walz was a pure show dance. I’ve missed the typical turns, there was not raising and lowering.
As far as I understand the concept of the show, celebs are trying to do some kind of sportive dancing.

@kikimurks I think any couple (in any DTWS franchise) would never compare to Nicole and Derek. And the dances (ballroom or Latin) are varied worldwide anyways. For example, the jive could be traditional or modern, or totally creative like what Derek does every week. So saying that this is not [Samba, Quickstep, Jive, Viennese Waltz, Tango, etc] is not thinking outside the box. Derek is just trying to show his creativity by Nicole.

@evannafanatic It’s sad to see, that the dancer at her side did not do a better job. I’ve seen the Viennese Waltz, which was just a show dance. We*ve just had the 3rd season of Let’s dance which is the german version of Dancing with the stars and our jury would have never ever accepted such.

evan trained in ballet, erin trained in jazz, lyrical, ballet. Actually Nicole had a huge disadvantage on this because she had some dance experience, voters don’t like that, the fact that she won is even more amazing! She won them over!

@bribrison @kikicreamify LOL to the desperate people fantasizing that Evan won. Get over it! Nicole wins because she is an international superstar. She got the majority of the votes outside the US (the Philippines). Evan is only famous in the US only (or in countries that experience winter). Also, Evan broke hold in quickstep, cheated in freestyle, and spaghetti legs in his Viennese Waltz. Nicole only screwed the freestyle which is Derek’s fault and the Carrie Ann’s nonsense comment in rumba.

@EM35207 I can understand why people are mad but she is NOT a ballroom dancer…she is trained in different styles except for ballroom, she struggled with some dances too…I’m happy she won but i would of been happy if any of the top 3 had won…=]
